Mordechai Daveed ben Avraham is one of those people that you meet and will not forget.
His knowledge, directness and intensity are a unique combination. He is a Cosmic Kabbalist, and yet he never limits himself to this planet, but sees himself as a galactic being. He was born in New York, in the Hebrew year 5708, the same year that the State of Israel was born. The Hebrew date is Yud B’Shvat, the 10th day of Aquarius. He is a non-graduate of two New York universities. After researching several pathways to reach the Divine Essence, he found that the Hebrew Letters and the TORAH had a unique relationship to mathematical perfection, and found that mathematics would be an interesting and intriguing pathway to the Creator. He started researching that pathway 18 years ago, while living in Del Mar, California. He started studying the Zohar, the writings of Rabbi Yehuda Ashlag; Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai; Rabbi Isaac Luria, the Ari HaKadosh; Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzatto, the Ramchal; the Ba’al Shem Tov, Rav Yisroel; Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, the Alter Rebbe of Chabad; and at present he is enthusiastically studying the writings of the Gaon of Vilna.
In the summer of 2002 he made his first trip to Israel, and after five weeks of extensive travel over the country, he said: “I realized that this was where I was going to end up, though I didn’t know how or when.” In 2003 he started lecturing in Phoenix, Arizona on Kabbalistic astrology as a Rosh Hodesh lecture. He felt it important for young people who wanted to get married to be a bit more aware of the potential attributes (midot) of the people they would consider marrying. He found there were many people that were getting married, astrologically speaking, as a gamble, gambling on their choice. His students enthusiastically appreciated his perspective on Kabbalistic astrology. Later he did weekly parsha classes as well, until he came back to Jerusalem, Israel permanently in 2006. He is now finalizing his research in elucidating and simplifying the blending of Kabbalah and the astrophysics of Planet Earth and the Galaxy, and doing the same with “The Book of Knowledge, The Keys of Enoch” As he has said many times, “We don’t know what we don’t know, and it’s about time we gave ourselves an honest perspective to make a free-will choice.” He presently lives happily in Jerusalem, Bli Ayin Hara, with his wife and family.
