Shalom everyone, we are about to enter the explanation of what it means that "ye shall be holy for I, the Lord am holy. Rabbi Isaac cited here the verse: "when God, he said "came to create the world and reveal what was hidden in the depths, and disclose light out of darkness, they were all wrapped in one another, and therefore Light emerged from darkness and from the impenetrable came forth the profound. So too from good issues evil, and from mercy issues judgment, and all are intertwined, the good impulse and the evil impulse, right and left, Israel and other nations, white and black – all depend on one another."
Said Rabbi Isaac in the name of Rabbi Yuda: "the whole world is like a garden of variegated flowers; when it is tried, it is judged with a judgment mingled with mercy; otherwise it could not stand an instant. We have learned that when judgment is suspended over the world and righteousness is crowned with its judgments, many “Winged Messengers” arise to meet the Lords of Stern judgment and to obtain sway over the world, and they spread their wings on both sides to overshadow the earth, which is then called "the land of the rustling of wings".
Rabbi Judah said: "I perceived that all mankind are shameless saved of truly virtuous. So, if one may say so, it is throughout: if one commences to purify himself he is supported from above, and similarly if he commences to defile himself he is also supported from above”. Zohar Kedoshim 80b, pg.91
And so this is what free will is all about! Whatever direction we decide to go in, is how we will be supported from above. And this is the Assemblage Point of “certainty versus doubt”! Time is an entity used by both sides. On one side it is used to give more time to the evil ones, so that they may repent for their not-so-nice actions. On the other side, it is used, so that when something happens, a period of time goes by (months, decades, lifetimes), before the effect of the cause takes place. The explanation to simplify or clarify both sides is not easy! Our job is to choose wisely for our higher selves/our souls/our Neshamot. It is not easy to navigate the thrills and chills of the material physicality and end up in a holy position. The odds are we won't! This is where that beautiful word “DISCERNMENT” manifests in our thought forms. Just remember, we are being watched, we are being observed in the most microscopic of ways.
