Okay, here it comes the rest of the story. Everyone has been thanking me for reiterating the few sentences concerning anger. It happens to be so important that it's worth mentioning one more time. About 2000 years ago there lived a great man he was a Tanna. In order to become a Tanna, one must do three simple things:
(1) bring rain from a clear sky;
(2) (2) make a river flow in the opposite direction; and
(3) bring someone back from the dead. Like I said, three simple things.
This great man, among a few great men, was called Rabbi Shimon ben Gamliel. He was so well respected that one of his (blogs? Prayers that were written down) are read every morning by millions of Hebrews in the morning prayer. This man was also a great healer. He did so many wonderful good deeds that the Angel of death was becoming jealous of the great love and respect that our Father in Heaven had for Rabbi Shimon ben Gamliel. So's the Angel sent these aggravating tests the Rabbi's way to see how the he would react. Now, we must understand that the Rabbi was 80 years old at this time and had been there, and done that, and bought and designed many T-shirts (you know the phrase, been there done that and bought the T-shirt?) I'm joking, but he was a great man! Well, one of these tests really pressed the Rabbi's button! He believed he was correct in his manner of protocol (anger and rage) dealing with evil and evil people. So, the Angel of death reported this to the High Council, and the Rabbi was judged and the judgment was executed. The judgment was that because Rabbi Shimon was an elevated soul, and was aware of all the blessings and all the mitzvot, and all of the penalties for doing no no's, and knowing that somewhere in his consciousness that there were some great risks in his 3 minute rage, that all of the Light Force Energy that he had accumulated in his 80 years of this particular incarnation - were deleted!
Many righteous people thought this was too severe a punishment - taking 80 years of a very high consciousness and tossing it out the window! Lessons need to be taught no matter how many years of tenure the righteous individual has accumulated. We know the old saying, "it is difficult to teach an old horse new tricks", but the challenges are there any way. So, once again the reiteration that anger needs to be put away in a very safe and secure place because our future's will be giving us this same tests and challenges. So, if we think we have got everything under control and we are being real observant in making sure that our anger is tucked away and we can turn on the love and understanding switch - we ain't seen nothing yet!!
Oh yes, there is a happy ending to this story. Another great awareness coming from the wise men of the past... And that is that EVERY MOMENT IS NEW and our preservation of love consciousness is our spiritual obligation and possible failsafe. This great awareness is actually the antidote of this deadly virus/poison. What is this antidote? Repentance - Teshuvah in Heb. As long as our request for repentance comes truly from the bottom of our hearts with love and unity consciousness, that same Upper Council has the ability to reverse the deletions. This is not a simple thing. Rabbi Shimon knew, after the fact, that he had been bamboozled by his negative inclination/Angel of death. After a couple of days of being disappointed with himself, he understood that he should have known better.
After 80 years of dealing with the bamboozler, he realized he had been taken to the spiritual “Bank of Binah”, and a great withdrawal had taken place. He then looked up and saw his pet cat sitting on the top of a piece of furniture, as calm as a still photo. He realized then and there, that this was the perfect time for repentance, to reduce his emotional intensity to that of his cat purring on the top of the furniture. His apology was accepted and he lived on to be gathered to his Father's with great merits and kudos. The lesson for us here is to have faith, to have “emuna”, strong faith that we have many entities protecting us, and all we need to do is to preserve our joy and happiness in the new moment in time, because this is the true buffer and antidote against frustration jealousy and anger. Chodesh Tov – A happy and joyful month!
I almost forgot - yesterday was the New Moon of Cancer. As we click to read this blog, we will be entering the first sliver of Light of the New Moon of Cancer. This will be the subject of my next blog, Shalom everyone.
